This kimono is a Tomesode, the first formal wear for women. It was made in 1980. Countless cranes flying over big waves are drawn with five different colors, gold, silver, and copper, using foil printing.
In Japan, the wave pattern represents eternity and the crane is revered as a bird of longevity.
A very modern, chic and yet gorgeous kimono. In very good condition.
